I am a Pilipina immigrant from a big, loud, and loving Pilipino family. In the proverb, “absence makes the heart grow fonder”, I cherish my family just as much as I value my boundaries and space from them to be interdependent. I am in a fulfilling and doting bicultural, childless marriage because marriages and families are all equally amorous in all its forms. I am fortunate to experience unconditional love from my two dogs, two cats, and two turtles, who from time-to-time join in my work.
I used to say I am a “dabbler” of hobbies such as poetry, painting, hiking, comics, cooking, and so much more. Thanks to Emilie Wapnick, I can now identify as a multipotentialite with many interests and passions in various fields. It's great to be a master or an expert in one or two things, we need those people who can focus on one thing. At the same time, we also need “generalist” who can integrate different ideas and spark an invention or creativity! I hope to relate to others who does their best thinking in random spaces like the shower, dog park, or Tuvalu (the least visited country in the world!).
I could list all my professional and academic achievements and yet, at the end of the day, what I value most is how who I am can connect to who you are. I don't want to be just another list of professional, coach, or therapist someone knows because that is not just me, just like I don't only see my clients as their work or achievements. But if you're still interested to know, feel free to visit my LinkedIn!
I could go on and on about myself, but it's more fun just getting to know each other. Two truths and a lie:
A. I was an undercover asset for law enforcement.
B. I skipped two grade levels.
C. I won Little Miss Glam in the Philippines.
